I didn't say any of these things. He can keep his mouth open if he wants and he has every right to express his opinion. It's just a matter of judgement on which opinions to express, and "clearly" he misused his judgement here. However, the

IANAL, but I think your #1 and #2 do apply most of the time for anything that can be seen in the public. Defamation of people's religions in a dis-respectful way is generally unlawful (though maybe not illegal). The act of giving someone th

I read most of the guy's article, I think, but I might have missed this last point you're making. I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying it's too technically difficult to do it (via machine learning or whatever) or there would be too man

He's not complaining about anything that anyone has a problem with (ok maybe SOME people do want to see people giving them the finger in their stream). He's just whining about G+ like he always does, like a baby. Your general statements don

I think it's offensive, and I would like to not see things like that pop up in my stream. Isn't this one of those things that are on the line where if just 1 person says it's offensive, then it should be treated as such. It's kind of like i

I definitely disagree that he's "clearly" right, and disagree that he's right at all. Tom made the good point that this is Google's social network, and if you want to use it, then you should play by the rules, which are IMO mor than reasona

What's more infuriating is when people give 1 star reviews to products they've never purchased for bogus reasons like "the price is too high" or "this is not out in my country".

It's true that Firefox is much more extensible and has way better extensions. Like you, I also hate the download manager in Chrome. However, the single feature that makes me try to use Chrome above anything is it's sync features. They are j

While I agree that Picasa's UI is pretty bland, I still love it because it so easy to upload and sync and share photo albums, which is basically all I do with it.

I've had the opposite experience as you. While the kindle is a very sexy device, all it really does well is the reading part. However, pretty much every e-reader does that part well. The thing I hate most though is the whole Kindle experien

It's true that the impact of a single individual is very small, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything. I guess it's similar to the whole Nike fiasco where many people stopped buying their products due to their factories employing

Ok, sure. Google can do better in the "making the world a better place" area, but at what cost. It costs money and time to deal with things like this and quite frankly I'd rather they spent that on continuing to create great products.

Really, everyone should be following Google's example and yet they get so much flak for trying to do the right thing in the comments of this post alone.

Is that really what's needed for you to be satisfied with Google's decision? You need there to be violence to prove that what they did was enough?

I don't know why there's so much hostility towards G+. So what if it's not the best product yet or if it doesn't have feature X that you want, they are making improvements every single week. Ripples is just another cool thing, and you can c

I'd argue you gain in development time and lose in debugging time, so yes the net is 0. But, in all seriousness, set up lint and write unit tests are my pieces of advice.

And you are jumping to this conclusion based on your interpretation of one remark by Sergey? It was clearly a joke you know. And Google is not a company where Sergey dictates everyone. Engineers are empowered to just get things done as well

By no means did I mean it was dumb. I meant that this kind of thing happens almost every week inside of Google. There is a ton of discussion going on all the time and Google is known to be a company where every employee's voice is heard. St

I agree. Also, why is this kind of post even on the front page? There was just a short speculative paragraph ended by an expletive. Google releases one product you don't like and people are "deserting" all their products. How childish can y
