Even the apology for being vague and somewhat underhanded is somewhat.. underhanded. Here is the video shown at the press conference shot using a Lumia 920. On the right is a Lumia 920 prototype with OIS. On the left is a smartphone wit

Here's a post outlining how strace can be used to solve problems: https://blogs.oracle.com/ksplice/entry/strace_the_sysadmin_s... More from a sysadmin POV than a dev, but you'd probably still find it useful.

A lot of IKEA criticism here, but what they are doing is actually pretty neat. All of their products are probably designed in some sort of CAD software, which means they already have the models necessary to do these sort of mockups. It stil

Thank you for pointing that out, and kudos to Amazon for updating their doc. They have an easy to understand sample calculation up now as well.

The way they calculate it is a little misleading. From AWS[1]: Provisioned IOPS is charged by the amount you provision in IOPS (input/output operations per second) X the amount of days you provision for the month. If I understand the abov

Whatever the result, the lawyers always win. This is pocket change for Oracle. The real set back to them is the result of the case. And though it's good to see the aggressor in one of these lawsuits actually lose, it's saddening to think th

Kind of an odd article, the writer spends the first part of it trying to come up with compliments, which usually fail. Instead of manufacturing a compliment, just pay attention and realize what you think looks nice, what you like, or what y

Japan still lags behind the US for most big-ticket films. Avengers won't open here until 2012/08/17, more than three months after the US release date. [1] That's a month ahead of the projected blu-ray release of the film though. It's really
