I dunno, it seems like those that deem it purely personal and therefore uninteresting fail to appreciate the broader impact this can have. This kind of announcement isn’t for individual nobodies interested in gossip, it was an even-handed a

Why does this story keep getting flagged on HN? As multiple people have pointed out, regardless of the personal issues in question, this affects a large number of people (such as those at the Gates Foundation).

My biggest complaint is that Lighthouse has a longstanding open bug where out-of-process iframes are counted in the main thread, thus causing third party embeds to wildly degrade the LH score, even when real performance is not affected much

Ahh, fair enough. They definitely snippets to be vetted by their security team. I'm sure they've learned from this mistake though, and I'm not sure I would trust anyone else any more than them.

You should not be backing up plaintext passwords to offsite storage anywhere . Or do you mean malicious JS capturing your form entry at login?

I too have been really shocked at how nasty our community has been regarding this issue.

I'm very much of the opinion that if you have something to say, you should say it. And if you are debating someone, you should let them have their say. However, there is a difference between being exposed to differing opinions and havi

I'm super excited about NextJS releases, but there has been a persistent memory leak issue is absolutely killer for larger projects: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/15855 . It's so difficult

I love (and own) all the Affinity products, but Designer still has a long way to go to get to feature parity with Illustrator, imho. Good news is, they are always improving.

If you find yourself reaching for EAV because you have schema-less data (custom fields, for example), nosql can make your life so much easier, as long as you understand the trade-offs.

I loved playing on MUDs in the 90s. My friend and I were wizards on one that was called Shadow something-or-another. It was awesome to be able to script new adventures and play online with friends as a kid in middle school and high school.

Ahh, ok. What we have built probably isn't for your specific need, as we utilize matrix as the underlying core technology, but we enhance it with the concept of support tickets on our support SaaS. If you are looking for a quick plugin

Yes, I (and my teammates) are currently doing this. What specifically are you looking for? Are you wanting to build one yourself and looking for advice, or are you looking for a service that provides a turnkey solution?

Clubhouse is definitely full of this stuff, but so is a lot of superficial social networking. It also feels like the VC lovefest a lot of times, but there are also some moments that can be pretty cool. For example, I listened in on a discus

Yes, all the time. I'm constantly worried, and I have a lot of difficulty managing it. I think mine originates from a couple of bad employment interactions I had a decade-ish ago, but I could be wrong.

You are saying that you willfully entered into a loan agreement without reading the terms of the contract. I just don't see that as a defensible position. I don't know how Robinhood does it, but TD Ameritrade was very clear with

It's incredibly good for GameStop. This gives them an excellent opportunity to issue new stock and raise a huge war-chest to pivot and become a 21st century business.

I bought quite a bit around 88, later theorized that shorts would be able to stair-step down to ~60 on circuit breakers yesterday (like the day they did before), so I sold around neutral. Feeling pretty dang dumb now.
