Any idea why the lack of audio (besides the voyeury-creep factor audioless video grants)? This will be a perplexing omission for a lot of users who are already familiar with personal video chat apps like Tango/Oovoo/Google+ Hangouts et al.

But how does a pushy email from a founder prove this in any way? Doesn't call TechCrunch's credibility into question at all. (Also, check the update on the original article--the email was apparently sent to VB, not an accidental TC misaddre

Not sure how this email proves a backroom deal - it's a founder saying they bought something and they expect something. Sketchy, but all on the founder's part -- all suppositions to/from the founder, not the publication. Did they even get a

Which is terrible. I use Bing as a backup for Google when Google fails me (not often), and I just don't like all of Bing's noise, the background graphics, the sidebar stuff, the slow load time, the Facebook Like button (FFS, WHY??), the "

Been watching what may be the server side of this hack for the last week or so...it's not very subtle and retries obnoxiously enough to stand out/get itself blacklisted. It may also be possible that some developers' apps aren't catching dup

The developer agreement indicates that only authorized payment processors can be used. AFAIK, Google Checkout is the only Authorized Payment Processor. Good thing for the GOOG, too, because reliability and support is often so bad as to be c

Seriously. Two weeks ago, the GRAIL project sent two satellites on a Delta 2 to the moon. To the MOON. The entire mission, soup to nuts, cost 496 million dollars. To put this in perspective, with this cash, we could have also purchased one

netstat -s |grep "connections established" is pretty fast and does the job if you're not filtering for certain ports or IPs. But running plain old netstat on a system with so many connections is a really bad idea. I almost fired myself once

This article series is kind of a Bible to me. It's not going to solve all of your problems, for sure, depending on yer stack, and setting yourself up for a forkbomb isn't the wisest in all situations, but it's got a lot of good advice &

The old UI had its issues, but it was much faster than the new one. Issues I see on a daily with new Twitter: - There're a lot of little weird inefficiencies if you use the keyboard - for instance, if you expand a tweet, space bar no longer

One of the issues I've seen with startups that do this is that they end up being consumed by the consulting work and aren't really able to crunch on their own thing. Whether it's demanding clients or the cash, your attention gets sucked awa

Put pedal to the metal and get it out there! Mirroring everyone else...well-funded competition means: 1. Your idea has legs. You have less to explain when people ask you about your startup. This is a good thing and saves a lot of time. 2. T
