All prices were displayed as AUD and there was no indication whatsoever that the billing would occur overseas. But it did, and my bank charged me their fees as one would expect them to do. The Booking.com issue is much more recent. See this

Related: Airbnb and apparently Booking.com are billing Australian customers from overseas, causing customers to incur a bank service charge. This isn't revealed to the customer in any way. Don't know how this is legal, but the ACC

If you (the Royal ‘you’, I’m not having a go at you ) have 1Password and you do not have a printed, sealed copy of your recovery steps safely hosted at a best friend or relative’s house then I think you’re bonkers. It’s so easy. Print it

Yeah it’s usually around 8. I primarily WFH which helps, although the office is only a 10 minute walk away. Getting up just that bit earlier and being at the keyboard by 08:00 is the key.

Some time last year I stopped working Mondays. I’m a contractor and I know my boss well, so I just said that I didn’t want to work Mondays any more. The difference is remarkable. You go from spending three quarters of your days at work to j

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy … an excellent track to work to, as it so happens. (The whole album is great.) HVOB: Jack https://music.apple.com/au/album/jack/1528144298?i=152814431...

Aaaaahhhhh I’ll play a bit of the Devil’s advocate here and say: you don’t live next door. It might well be the case that living next door to this guy is hell on Earth. You shouldn’t just be allowed to do what you want just because you own

Very slick try-before-you-buy experience. And excellent, realistic pricing. I’ll be giving this a go.

Brit here. I woke up one morning – I was 15, so this was in the 90s – with the word ‘microdot’ in my head. The first thought, clear as anything, as if it was painted across the inside of my eyes. Microdot! Puzzled, I didn’t move and set abo

I do find it interesting that here, on the techiest, nerdiest forum there is, people are lamenting the loss of a physically large jack. Did you think it would be around for all of time? If in 5/10/50/∞ years, phones never get

Welcome to story-telling. I’m enjoying it! Medium isn’t at fault here, it’s just the platform. Which, I’ll also say, in this case is just fine.

The thing that Alfred does that the various methods of launching an app don't do is that it switches to an already-running app. If I've got Outlook open I don't want another Outlook open. Why would I want that? I want to

While this does work, I agree with OP here. The man page for caffeinate says that it prevents system sleep and, as far as I can tell, it does not do that on my M1 MBP using Monterey. I do a `caffeinate -d` and then throw my mouse to a hot c
