The article isn't discussing abandoning of cars because they've gotten more expensive, it's discussing it in the context of public transportation and "last mile logistics" being on everyone's mind now not just

Yeah we've been talking about setting up once-a-week-restored dev instances that people who aren't making database migrations / schema changes can point their codebase at so they don't have to have _all_ the databases. I

Not the code, the databases. And actually the specific databases I need to run (we have minimal PII scrubbed versions we use for local testing) could live on my internal HD but I don't have enough storage for all my files + the backup

I work on the mobile ecosystem for Stack Overflow. I run the team that makes our Android and iOS apps, so I need Xcode at the very least. I also feel more comfortable on a UNIX environment because I know the tools more. Most of the develope

The pop-up that says "Uber has been using your location in the background recently"? I don't think this is true. I think the pop-up is telling me it was using my GPS, especially since the GPS icon on the Settings page where y

I'm with you on this. I don't get why Apple can't mandate a "Only when in app" option. The description for why they require it says they use the location while in app or for a few minutes after the trip is over. Whe

How much did you pay to get it replaced? Did you use ubreakifixit? My Pixel died in a similar way, fell out of my hand while pulling out of my pocket, fell on the floor, screen dead. I went back to my iPhone 6s but the day after my Pixel di

It's a very understandable worry :) Writing rules that when they fail just go into server error logs is sub-optimal at best. The real solution would be Google allowing per-site AMP de-registration, but that's a fantasy I bet. This

@edent - what web server are you using? I wouldn't bother with any Wordpress plugins, but if you're using Apache or something you should be able to `mod_rewrite` pages ending in `/amp` to the same page minus the `/amp`,

For my own curiosity, when you mean anonymous answers do you mean by people who don't have accounts on our platform at all, or do you mean people who already have accounts disconnecting their persona from a specific answer?

I wrote a post about this a while back: http://kasrarahjerdi.com/2016/08/on-developer-hiring/ Basically I like job listings that include _specific_ information about the role at the company. Maybe that means

Perhaps I should've gone in more detail. I'm not upset about them wanting people who are proficient in git, I'm saddened that the job listing doesn't mention anything about what a Senior Android Developer does at Weebly.
