Sounds a lot like Apple right before they bought NeXT.

Exactly. I remember a few years back there was a bit of an outrage at Apple for "doing" the same thing. But really, if somebody messes around with their own hardware, do they really expect Nintendo/Apple/etc to have tested against that? Of

They don't advertise the available memory of any of the iOS devices, not even to their Developers. The community finds out on their own (usually after teardowns or writing test apps).

No, the GP said "Double tap the home button", which brings up the Multitasking tray. If you go into jiggle mode there, you can terminate the app. You'll see a red icon instead of the X used for uninstall.

The same could be said for someone who says "I read books all the time." You could look at it as someone being unproductive (hey if you're reading a book, you're probably not working!) or you could look at it as someone educating themselves

You're right, HTML itself isn't printer friendly, but it's really only a semantic document. It's up to you to style it with a print stylesheet. And of course, I wouldn't use CSS to colour everything and add gradients and all that junk. The

What I'd like to know is why not just do up the resumé in HTML and style with CSS? I'm not a web designer by any means, but getting a simple style up and running is no big stretch (especially if you're capable of LaTeX markup). To be fair,

In the blog post they say it will be "Open". What do they mean by that? Open source? Open for everyone in the world? From what I can tell in the post, it's only available in some countries, and it's also only available with Google Checkout.

Which city are you in? I'm in downtown Ottawa and with a store-bought HDTV antenna I get only 2 stations. Maybe I'll have to go buy a spool of wire!

Imagine heading to your Applications directory, selecting all, and pressing CMD+O to open them all. Even if you're a typical user, and your apps are mostly just run-of-the-mill light Cocoa apps, having 50 running concurrently will take it

"LATEST BUZZ Of all the different bug trackers out there, this is definitely one of them." Is that actually saying anything substantial? Maybe it's in jest, in which case I do find it humourous, but if not, it's not necessarily a compliment

I don't think that's true. It might have been what they said , but it's February now and we haven't seen any glimpses of iPhone 5 (or whatever) from the FCC, and I'd be willing to bet it launches less than six months from now.

An existing product of their own would constitute competition. So it's not inaccurate what he's said. But I agree, it could have been explained more clearly.

The book Adam's Tongue by Derek Bickerton chronicles one view of how language evolved in humans and in doing so, evolved humans along with it. It's pretty fascinating. The book explains how our brains wouldn't really have the "thoughts" y

Haha. I think the smartest thing I've learned so far in my "career" is to know I'm capable of learning just about anything, so long as I actually pay attention enough to those who already know. It's working well.

I'd definitely recommend checking out the app "Movist". It's what I use instead of VLC or MPlayer when Qucktime (+Perian) doesn't cut it. I think it's based of MPlayer anyway, but it works very well on the Mac when VLC falters (or is just t
