Government waste has been known for decades and people want it cleaned up. However the same people we have trusted to clean it up are part of the very system that has allowed it to continue. Take a close look at something like funding for

I've heard a lot of people recommending the K1 as a similar substitute. https://www.creality.com/products/creality-k1-3d-printer I might check it out too, while I like my X1C...Bambu might be overstaying there wel

You seem to be confusing the term packaging...it is not the box, it is how the chips are assembled together to make the final product. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-egYoxajTz0

What makes you think construction was completed in July 2022? The shell of Phase 1 may have been completed, but even now the construction continues in Phase 1B and Phase 2.

They have adopted a n-2 type of rule for advanaced tech...but as of yesterday they seem to have relaxed this rule and approved transfer of 2nm from Taiwan fabs to the AZ fab at some point in the near future. https://www.extremete

They have 24/7 people on site, 4 shifts that cover the work...but those are generally techs in the US, which have associate degrees or less. In Taiwan they are generally engineers that work the 24/7 shifts.

They don't have that many SWE...so be careful on your comparisons. 95% of their engineers are non-SWE...and those engineering disciplines do not make 4X those salaries listed above.

They are not solved with compensation...simply put Taiwanese in both the US or Taiwan will put in more hours and work harder regardless of pay. Will compensation get some US workers to work as hard...yes...but not enough for what is needed

Exactly this...and since the US is by far the biggest revenue source for semiconductors it would be stupid to ignore this rule. Taiwan in general wants to maintain favor with the US because of the invasion threat of China as well (although

No, but any programming that would occur with identifiable information would occur after the wafer is cut and packaged. Generally this would be after delivery to TSMC's customer.

There is no serial number on the individual die, but TSMC has very unique test lines on the chip that would easily identify if it was in fact made at TSMC.

Sounds like 18A yield is so bad they are bringing in the 20A team to fix things...at the expense of using 20A in their own products. Guess we know which roulette square the company is putting it's money.

They have claimed progress since then, but their latest and greatest processor that is available still runs on mostly TSMC chips. 18A has zero proof of being ready by the end of the year like they claim.

I would guess based on their description this is not expensive or precise...at least compared to the cleanroom tooling like an EUV tool. This is probably a gas tower that is used to produce high purity gas on site (like N2). They are larg

Yeah, but the most advanced chips in Meteor Lake are TSMC chips still...3 of them (GPU, SoC, IOE at N5/6 node). Granted there are lots of comparisons saying TSMC N5 is Intel 7, etc...but when you actually come down to real life testin

Well you mentioned their latest and greatest...which also uses three of TSMC's N5 chips in it. So they may have solved that 2021 problem with 7nm tech, but they are still relying heavily on TSMC for their best chips right now.
