Yeah, but trying to create a perfect analogy is like trying to improve the poundcake, just isn't worth it.

Nah, you've identified the problem and IMO it's quite philosophical. Like to me, what the person in this article describes is what someone else would call "seeing the apple". >She could think about an apple: its taste

I think you are misremembering. I think Braid debuted on the Xbox Arcade or something like that. Maybe you are remembering something like Passage?

Hard to really get a sense of tone from text quotes of a cynical game dev, but I got the feeling that he comes across as entitled to sales. For a remaster of a game from 2008. Sorry, but you cannot expect "a million" sales for a p

To point 1, I totally agree. ChatGPT's VUI is really good, especially when "learning" things with my kids. A huge step up from trying to "talk" to Alexa.

When UX designers started to look at their job more like science than art, the tech world became more boring, dull, and soulless.

The race is on. What will AI deliver first...? Production-ready code so PMs don't need engineers, or production-ready designs so PMs don't need designers? The reality is that without domain experts (design, research, engineering,

For me, I am immediately turned off by these models as soon as they refuse to give me information that I know they have. Claude, in my experience, biases far too strongly on the "that sounds dangerous, I don't want to help you do

I personally believe university is exactly what you make of it. I went for a full 4 years to an expensive private university with a good reputation in my field, and it’s done a lot to open doors for me. However, I don’t really believe that

It's not that recycling plastic is 100% a "sham". Recycled plastic is real, and products made from recycled plastic are real. The "sham" is that recycling plastic is not efficient. Still marginally better than stra

I have to admit, you had to have seen this coming. In terms of corporate structure, it never feels good to see managers enjoying a "benefit" that their employees don't. Imagine a remote manager in Florida who manages a team

I just don't get this, or any other "VUI"/voice-centric platform for that matter. The killer feature of the smartphone or watch isn't that it's the most convenient (which it is), it's that whatever you wan

It's not "he ruined the product", it's "he shipped what leadership wanted". And yes, it gets rewarded all the time. Besides, 'good' is a matter of perspective... if this reduced app closes by even 1%
