It looks to me this article is mostly about client side development. As an all round developer, I usually think about MVC in the backend (server side). Now that I recently got more into bigger client side applications it does surprise me th

As always: use the right tool for the job. React is not an MVC framework also, and it could actually make things much easier for this particular job. If you don't need MVC or frameworks then don't use them, you'll be happy th

If you're writing unit tests to test the business logic of your app, you shouldn't need a database at all. You should write your business logic so that it isn't dependent on a database, so you can really test the business log

It's sad some people tend to think as being a programmer is all about programming. You have to focus on the goal: the product that you are creating. Then you decide what's the best tool to make this product, and it doesn't ma

Fair enough, I just tried it out and it indeed works, I was a bit ignorant ;). I'll see if this will work out for me. Don't know what any pitfalls could be by setting the color scheme in the terminal. At least it's annoying i

Nice to hear someone is having the same problem as me :). Your solution sounds nice, you still have to restart things but you kind of automated that part. Maybe I'll end up doing the same, for now I'll try to explore more possibil

I find myself often switching between dark/light colorschemes when I'm working inside/outside. However, this is a quite annoying task, I have to change the colorscheme of my terminal, and of Vim. Besides, I have multiple Vim

What if this site occasionally sends out real phishing mails? If a lot of sites are using it, they would have interesting stats one could use to target the right audience. Not saying they would, but they could get hacked of course...

I use it as a default search engine and I'm very satisfied. The keyboard shortcuts are very handy [0]. I rarely find myself needing a different search engine. Only the images search is not really useful I think (also UI wise). [0] htt

One really useful shortcut I learned in bash is Ctrl-/ which is a sort of undo for bash when composing a command. Can't really explain how it works, you should try it out yourself. Also really handy is Ctrl-Y, which pastes the las

But it doesn't mean that when you're healthy your automatically not overweight. You can be pretty healthy having a lot of fat. The point is that in the past you gained the fat by eating too much, so if you want to lose that, you s

Nobody says you need to be hungry to keep a healthy weight, but if you are overweight, and you want to lose that weight, there's no way around being hungry sometimes. You know why? Your fat cells only start giving off their fat to the

Many people don't seem to like the approach of the Hackers Diet, as it only focuses on how much and not what you eat. I actually really like this approach. Everybody has different ideas about what is good to eat or what isn't, but
