There was no opportunity to lose money if you diversified with an index fund or frankly even an actively managed fund. For every one of these guys their is another who lost money compared to the market. People should not push the narrative

Yes, heat pumps do win. They win even more when you consider that the energy mix is not 100% fossil fuels. Globally something like 15% of energy comes from renewables or nuclear, plus 20-ish % from natural gas which is, as you said, 50-ish

I think you are misunderstand where most of that energy comes from. Say I have some refrigerant in liquid form at a low pressure. That refrigerant will have a boiling point of say, -20 degrees F. I use the ambient air, which is say 0 degree

One* heat pump will do fine, but you might need a low temperature heat pump depending on where you are. After you factor in that gas is cheaper than electricity per kWh, the system should save you money as long as it is running at an effici

Well of course it is being pushed, though I would not necessarily call it coordinated. Companies that sell heat pumps are advertising hard. It's an easy sell for them with rising gas prices. The US government is "pushing them"

10% is the one year category inflation for food, 15% since 2020 is the overall CPI inflation. These are different numbers because the first only looks at the food that Americans buy while the second looks everything people spend their money

Inflation is 50% vs. 2006 Only 15% vs. 2020 This is an 18.5% jump in debt in a period where prices rose about 6.5%. It does not make sense to say that this is explained by inflation.
