I use vim for quick edits only, when I'm on a shell doing some config or authoring a commit etc. Esc felt weird for a day or so then my hand just adopted to the touch esc key, not that bad. Might be a lot harder for a hardcore user tho

Have 3d Secure here in Turkey too. Most merchants provide a checkbox to enable 3D secure, if you do so, they redirect to the bank's page and you need to enter a code. Most of the time, non 3d secure purchases take a little more time to

I believe GitHub officially used that term to those who starred a repo. Their API uses the term anyway: https://developer.github.com/v3/activity/starring/#list-star...

I don't understand how these interviews work. You can't have a single correct answer to these kind of questions. - 3 seems to be the obvious answer. - 1 for keep alive stuff but even with a single connection, there are multiple re

I've been wondering, is it practically possible to have a dual arch hardware + OS? The kernel would run on an ARM processor, along with all the supported software. Any x86 binary would be offloaded to the intel cpu. Sharing RAM and eve

I asked the same question and read replies to others. Just a quick summary; - Lenovo has decent laptops. Personally, I'd not touch anything from Lenovo after their shady stuff. (Maybe not an issue on Linux, maybe it is. I don't tr

Yeah but they are integrated (native notifications, file access, a window that does not go away with the browser or tied to it, decent looking chrome etc). When I need to use it that much I prefer an app, even if it's a shell actually.

I'm doing web dev on macOS. Tried to plan how I'd work on Linux desktop if I ditched Mac and it doesn't look that bright actually. - I basically can't stand the usability linux desktop environments. But this is subjectiv

Good. Article doesn't seem to load for me but it served nearly no purpose but a nostalgic one. Maybe someone somewhere debugged a hardware problem with it? Have no idea. Given that the touch bar has it's own hardware and software,

Mostly about poor external display connectivity, poor trackpad accuracy and annoying coil whine. I saw 2-3 people mention the trackpad as a con and that was actually enough for me to keep waiting for Apple's event. Maybe those were iso

Wow these look god awful but they weight a lot less than the MBPs so that's a huge selling point for me. Thanks for mentioning these. However, after all those shady stuff they did, makes it hard to go for Lenovo.

Yeah I also considered that. Got a VM instance and tried a couple of times. It works when it works. There are a lot of rough edges. Now, if we give that a couple of years to mature. I might go back to Windows too. Seems like a reasonable se

I gave the XPS 15" a serious consideration. Wasn't gonna wait for the Apple event and buy one a month earlier. Then I read a lot of horror stories. Couldn't be sure about reliability. Doesn't really offer too much over t

Given all the Apple bashing, I can not see a decent alternative being mentioned? Everybody is furious about the new Mac, where does this expectation come from? I need a new laptop, my older MBP had some unfortunate accidents. I tried to fin

I guess it should be functional without an (compatible) OS present. Within the recovery screen and f keys using boot camp? Gotta have a tiny cpu + os for those.

I uninstalled it a while ago. It was like one of the first things I'd install on a new OS but all these weird ass hacks and stuff irks me. Losing trust of their users is not good for a cloud storage company.
