I have a wide screen. On one side, the app I'm working on reloads itself as I'm working on it, middle is the code, right is docs. On a second virtual desktop I have chat, email and todos. Works perfect for me.

That scared me too. I just move what I want to delete from the original sync folder over to another folder, causing the phone data to be deleted, I even wrote a script that "partitions" that old data, also syncing to some random s

When I first got my hands on a computer late 90s, other people should have seen my fathers facial expression when he saw his 10 year old son typing "weird code" into a terminal window at a "lightning" 1-2chars/sec s

According to the article, Germany is also looking to build one... Just assign the task to the Deutsche Bahn, what could possibly go wrong! Before corona times, there used to be stations closing because too many people are called in sick or

So, to be clear, you studied and "understood" history and came to the conclusion that nationalism is a good thing. How? It's clear that I don't agree with you. I think you must be too isolated from some nice people to be

In this day and age, don't people like you read/watch some world history? What you are saying seems so narrow-minded (ignoring the racist undertone), it makes me confused.

I didn't mean to say they're lazy. I generally dislike the studios but developers there are brillant, usually. I was thinking that studios were being cheap. Why invest in a proper server infrastructure if you can make clients inst

Don't disclose to the client anything not in their view. I know this is sometimes impossible and/or too costly to implement but it should be possible to find a compromise that prevents most of the blatant cheaters, eventually. Als

I wrote this another comment, but instead of getting too much into an arms race, studios should invest more on server-side anti-cheat mechanisms. You could correlate community feedback and some machine learning, while also picking easy-to-c

Anti-cheat measures end up blocking mostly the well-meaning players. I know it's sometimes too costly, but game studios should invest more on server-side security measures and mostly distrust the clients.

It's not worth the stress of downloading the entire backup from your remote storage (hopefully you have one) if it unexpectedly fails. The removed hard disk can also still be put to use, for example, storing games.

Yes and the comment I replied to vaguely suggested that it didn't make python and js comfortable to learn and everyone focused on the fact that in these languages not everything is an object.

I was not talking about everything being an object. I was talking about that claim being the key to being nice and comfortable. Many sibling comments, IMHO, miss the point of the parent and focus on the claim about python and js. Python and

JS is for me clean and comfortable, sometimes more than C# and for some others Python is, and everyone has their own answer to "what makes them so". Everything being an object may do the trick for you or not. I don't mind a m

I have some older LCDs at home, and a newish Samsung 49 inch (heat comes heavily from the front of the panel on this one!), also an LG 4k TV. All get hot. Could also be that I'm just unlucky.
