I don’t believe that’s the only logical conclusion. Perhaps there should be some base requirement for people who want to repair something- be it a certification or insurance requirement. There could definitely be degrees of freedom for repa

I see this belief (that things people bought should always be repairable by the owner) by many but I always feel it’s extremely self-centered. IMO it’s reckless to think this way about repairing complex systems that can affect others. Repai

Now if only deleting your account meant never getting any more emails from them... I still get ‘so and so wants to connect’ after I deleted mine. Anyone have any idea how to stop this? (Besides an email filter?) is this practice even legal?

It’s an interesting idea, and at the same time strange that some of the companies listed (eg facebook) would be open to contributing to this... esp given that for them data is their business model.

The utility may be obvious but the solution is far from it. The problem is that custom UI is extremely non-trivial. Getting something to work in a way thats even just slightly different from what the default UI does can be a huge undertakin

If someone was looking to compete with YC one starting differentiator could be to not force teams to relocate to SV for three months; something that YC has proven time and again they’re not open to budging on (aside for the mini-not quite Y

Just want to point out that there is research that suggests there’s no clear-cut extrinsic/intrinsic designation and that motivation generally lies on a spectrum between these two types (Ryan and Deci). Moreover, finding ways to move y

This method sounds appealing and reasonable. My question would be- did you have a good sense of how many of your peers did in fact do the homework ahead of class- my instinctual fear is that due to this ‘different approach’ many students ma

I tried to lean on good faith but using common terminology as is and then redefining it in the body of the article is clickbait: alternatives that aren’t baity would include ‘how to really become a 10x developer’ or ‘rethinking what it mea

There is a commonly accepted definition (described in a sibling comment) and the article explicitly says ‘I will redefine the term as ...’ what it goes into.

I did read that. Independent of what you would prefer, they are still not synonymous and one would expect an article that says ways o become a 10x developer to address that specifically- not something else entirely.

Total clickbait; Article equates being a 10x developer with being a better "10x" teammate and then lists ways to be a better teammate. Not that becoming a better teammate isn't important but it is definitely not synonymous wi

Pretty sure the idea here is to quicken the checkout and lines-> having someone fill bags as someone else handles payments and you handle paying, makes queues move faster than having them grind to a halt due to someone packing their bags
