One scenario I can think of is where search becomes less and less important for the web. Through years of consolidation you may appear in a landscape where there are well known monopolies on every front, and consumers don’t need to discover

As a Model S and now Model 3 owner, Tesla is at least decades away from anything close to Level 5. Car still does phantom braking on freeways after what 6 years of Autopilot?

An opt-in strategy has some challenges here as the data may become biased a cohort of users and you wouldn’t be able to tell whether rejections are due to discrimination or the natural course of business. And opt-out strategy allows for the

Your post is disingenuous. I got the same email and it very clearly lays out that you can opt out of the settings. This was not hidden in some obscure T&C. You can click the opt out link on the email directly and opt out.

Valuation has only a fleeting relationship with revenue. In the traditional sense valuation is essentially the cash returned to shareholders discounted over time. Walmart’s margins are thin. That’s why their valuation is much lower

I mentioned in another post that I am a big proponent of moving to Canada, but I have my eyes wide open. Canadian salaries do not even come close. Also, I have filed taxes in CA for 12 straight years. The tax burden gets diluted by a lot of

I am really skeptical of this idea that suddenly people will be moving to small cities. For one, this assumes that people just move to big cities to work. Is there any research to prove that ? For most people, especially when they are young

Feels like this incident is even more egregious than the George Floyd incident. In this case the police actually tried to frame the boyfriend, and probably would have gotten away with murder and convicting an innocent person if not for nati

I don't think you know what you are talking about. California is experiencing the lowest level of gang violence ever. Oakland, LA, and San Francisco are seeing lowest homicide rates in decades. SF just had 35 homicides last year, compa

How is this example relevant to the article ? The article discusses reducing the scope of policing, not end of policing. Not sure why this comment is upvoted.
