We're providing a "smart kitchen" solution in restaurants. Each restaurant has three Intel NUCs, so a little over 6K-7K devices. We're using k3s partly for the hardware redundancy, and partly for the ease of managing the

Not to be facetious or anything, but I'd argue the moon is a hard-to-reach area with a distinct lack of coverage. Now, I don't think it's going to impact a significant number of end-users, so probably not great from that pers

Go for it. I say it's worth the sticker price, easily. Incredibly deep, lots of replay value. The number of builds/strategies in this game are astounding. And it's very actively developed, with the developer being very involv

I think it's more for equipment rentals - think renting skis or a snowboard. Less rent-to-own and more try-this-hobby.

My employer has over 2000 clusters running k3s (I'm on the team that manages them), it's been...okay. We're on an old version though, so a lot of the k3s-specific issues we're running into are mostly fixed in more recent

I think this is one of those "rule of cool" things. Though I will say, sure IG-88 may have been better at shooting accurately, but his response to being surrounded in the first episode was to initiate a self-destruct. Whereas you

I've tried using LocalStack for mocking AWS services locally, but it's never worked quite the way I want it to. At this point I just set up "local" versions of the resources I need in a non-prod account and set up the se

I was where you are about a month ago. I ended up using Doom[0] as a bootstrapped config and haven't looked back. I love org-mode. It's the killer feature of Emacs in my mind. I also feel like (note, this is entirely anecdotal and

It's definitely not colonization, but I'd still say it's aggressive expansion. We just happened to make people think it was a good thing. Looking back now, I'm not so sure it was the net good it was sold as.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. Things you need to run a blog: 1. Server, preferably secure. This can be set up in an afternoon, maybe on a Saturday or Sunday. You can also probably find Ansible or Chef scripts to automate the

Well, the AirPods Pro come with a USB-C-to-Lightning cable. It's not perfect, but you really do only need one type of charger now. And the AirPods don't really need to be charged very often - I usually get by with a 10-day charge

My only complaint about USB-C is that the different abilities of the port aren't visually distinguishable. You can't tell by looking at it if a USB-C port has power delivery. Other people have written more extensively about this c

It's teams of people with varying skill levels under time pressure. Ruby is a language where projects can suddenly bloom with hyper-complexity if you're not careful. You really have to strictly adhere to a style guide and have sen

I think they're referring to PWA-style "Add to Homescreen", which I agree is a weak point of iOS/MobileSafari. I also wonder why there isn't good/any support for WASM in Safari.

The thing to remember is that, under all the chrome and Apple styling, macOS is rooted in BSD. So the power users who enjoy the *nix-y bits of macOS and are looking for a replacement will look for something that gives them more of that.

I don't think Shopify is the right comparison. Their entire "value proposition" seems to be along the lines of: here's how to do viral marketing with the meme economy. I also get strong Warhol vibes from them.
