Though the article was horrible, I found the quotes from Elon and the ex-CEO to be interesting. It's not often you see a quote like this: "Martin is the worst individual I've ever had the displeasure of working with." In some ways, it sort

Yeah, it's pathetic and Apple has really failed at this. But at least they admit it, and say they are trying to improve.

The reason equity grants are so popular at startups is because they work. When employees own a physical piece of the work they are creating, and when they have a definite vested interest in making things to the best of their ability, you (a

Unfortunately hunger is a biological urge, and it's not exactly something you can choose not to fixate on. Anything else makes sense, but I really don't think it applies to dieting all that much on an extended basis (for a short period of t

Ah, now I agree totally with that. And I've found that you can really easily make something that sort of works OK in IE6 most of the time if you follow all of these suggestions: http://anthonyshort.com.au/blog/comments/how-to-get-cross-br.

I understand your problem and I empathize with you. But you are at the very, very low end of the experience curve. It makes sense for me, as a designer, to cater to the largest number of people possible, and to provide them the best experie

Catering to the lowest type of anything in business is always a recipe for bad user experience. Also, I seem to remember you telling me that you use a computer with a resolution of 800x600. If you also use IE6, then you are, in fact, the lo

Unlike KDE, Gnome, OS X, etc, Windows' taskbar never shuts up. It always pops up annoying bubbles, makes clicking sounds, randomly shows and hides icons, and doesn't standardize the way you can add/remove icons. OS X fails a bit in this are

To my astonishment, this writeup was actually interesting. I wonder what they could do to improve the quality of the comments on TechCrunch. These 11 types seem to make up the vast majority of the things said there, unfortunately.

Everything they do is a knockoff of something else, and it's usually not better (I actually cannot think of a single case where it is better). I am not just randomly anti-Microsoft for religious reasons. They make terrible products that hav

Yes, any amount of stock ownership-- or potential ownership, as with options-- is considered "equity." Although these numbers in percentages are skewed-- in fact, the actual equity compensation is obviously spread over four years. So to p

Post Series-A, it is somewhat common though not universal. Once you start adding employees who don't hold significant amounts of equity, you have to create meaningful performance incentives. The best way to do that is with a monetary bonus.

Not entirely true. USB 2.0's "peak" speed is 480Mbps, but it actually performs worse for large transfers than firewire. From what I understand, it's designed for short bursts of data at very high speeds.
