There is no way I am moving my family and company to Germany. Payment isn't really the issue, but the terms of service. When I visited Germany last fall, smartphone use was very common.

I don't think you'll get much for my personal number (the equivalent of the US social security number). Anyone, including you, can call the tax office at +46 8 564 851 60 and get it for free. Profiting off a secret password is not

Repeating myself, you do not know what aristocracy means. In late Middle Ages England, I could be a copyhold tenant to the mesne lord, with the copyhold passed on by inheritance to my heir, following the traditional inheritance scheme of th

I don't think you understand what aristocracy means, I don't think you understand what the equivalency is supposed to be, and I don't think you understand what rights you have with a first hand contract in Sweden. I know you

I do not think you are using the term "aristocracy" correctly. If you are talking metaphor, the "lord" in "landlord" is a far clearer sign of aristocracy. Capital can be passed down through multiple generations

I cited cellVIEW in a parallel comment. ;) I still think "few" is the wrong word. I usually think of "few" as meaning up to around 6, while Chimera and VMD can easily handle hundreds of proteins at the atomic level.

Odd. I can't see why. I think we had 128 MB on that IRIX box, and I know I loaded a 1 million atom structure with copies of 2PLV (full capsid plus a bit more to get to a million.) Each atom record has ~60 bytes (x, y, z, occupancy, bon

Do you know what the author means by "Current visualization software, such as UCSF ChimeraX6 , can only render one or a few protein structures at the atomic level." I haven't used VMD for about 30 years, but even in the 1990s

Yes, I only needed 2D so that's all I did. I looked at the C code in [0]. It looks like it goes to/from the x,y,z coordinates each time, which certainly works, but is not all that fast, and I was interested in higher performance.

For those interested, I have a C implementation of Jakub Červený's Gilbert2D, with Python bindings, at https://hg.sr.ht/~dalke/rectfillcurve , along with a few other rectangle-filling curves.

My wife has a smart phone. I do not. I can say that so far, in Sweden, it's not necessary to have a smart phone, but it is growing harder. The one time a client required MFA they had me install an app for my laptop + SMS. The local cab

Scenes from the 1990s: In 1991 a friend needed to fly home. She was anxious about flying. I went with her to the gate until loading, to help her keep her calm. Not possible now. You could also meet people at the gate when they arrived. In 1
