Part of the problem is people constantly comparing the US to these european countries. Even Americans are guilty of it. And often when I have brought up the fact that the US is very diverse and is more akin to 50 countries with some free tr

Yeah we are instituting the same (laptop in the kitchen only, no headphones policy). Tablets I’m much less concerned about as I usually cache apps/shows and manage access via physical means (ie: we take them away and only doll them out

Thats exactly why we are structured that way. Especially for our primary accounts. Its also why we use 3 banks. So if for some reason 1 bank had some type of incident or the accounts do, we have 2 other options with cash reserves. Though th

We definitely do. And my intent wasnt to proselytize about it. More to just explain the reasoning. I have had fraud due to things outside of my control that took hundreds of hours and months to recover from. Some being from family of all th

If a company, not just Disney, is buying large swaths of land specifically to develop it, that makes the land more valuable. If a company is going to great lengths to trick sellers into thinking it’s not being bought up for development, tha

I worked from home 100% from Feb 2020 through October 2021 - so roughly 1.5 years. For me - work life balance suffered. I would often be found running back to my office to shoot out a quick email and then be found there working 1 hour later

Would agree. I am VERY torn on Lemmy. Its functional, I even run my own instance. But the distaste from the creators jamming of their politics into it, and much of the politics on there, make it really hard to promote or support.
