We do need more housing, but what’s stopping these same investors from buying it all up?

I really hate the demonization of the phrase "conspiracy theory". Why is it so crazy to entertain the idea that the rich and powerful who control major institutions may be working together?

No, I tried to make my comment thoughtful and hoped someone would want to engage with it so maybe we could learn something.

What gets me is the way that people will see a picture of a swastika and immediately brand everyone involved as a racist, but then turn around and say that any wrongdoing that happened during a protest for a cause they do agree with was jus

Absolutely. Lying is always somewhat incentivized, but in most cases it doesn't work, because the candidate will be found out. If I interviewed at google, I could lie about my skills all I want, but I will be found out when asked to de

It’s not just normal, it’s progressive! In all seriousness though, lots of americans share your sentiment. Lots of us would just like to live our lives, but we’re constantly bombarded with stuff like this.

In america it’s important that our ruling class constantly divides all us plebs up by race so that we can all be mad at each other instead of them. It’s incredibly effective.

But isn't that worse? You basically just said that the people we vote for aren't actually the people in charge. How is that supposed to make anyone feel better? And as for the whole "focus on your loved ones" notion, I r

Usually the term "demonstration" refers to something like a march, sit-in, or some other form of non-violent protest. We're not talking about that, we're talking about people destroying private property. > by and larg

I agree 100%. It was so disappointing to see all the damage done to private businesses during the summer of 2020. Why not go after government buildings? Isn't that who funds all the things that were being protested? How does destroying

I don't really consider money going from my pocket, to Egypt, then to the US military industrial complex as "staying in the US." My taxes should go to things that benefit me and other regular citizens, not war profiteers.

Another way to look at it is that it isn’t about stopping criticism if the criticism has no effect. Serious boycotts can be very effective, but “criticism” from politicians can be meaningless.
