That's pretty wild if you think about it, Warcraft sold 100k copies at release and maybe 300k copies total (according to Wikipedia) so of the nearly six billion people on the planet at the time, you and I were two of 100k of six billio

When I was a kid, this is the first thing I did that I'd call programming, but it was to use a hex editor on my Warcraft (the original game, yeah) save files to give myself more gold and wood. I had a friend teach me how to convert to

It's funny because to a lot of people making DAPPs is as pointless as Factorio (though I think I may just be putting Ethereum poo-poo out there in general). That said, I've been feeling similarly - playing on Steam and seeing folk

The page is from 2003, I think, so I'm surprised it's even available, I bet most of the links live in archive.org because this site was picked up by major news sites back then.

A bit off topic, I doubt anyone remembers this, but that domain used to host a pretty hip telnet chat (telechat) back in the 90s, I thought the domain was sold off, but this looks aesthetically similar to before, so maybe they kept their pe

It took a decade for apple to bring synergy to iOS, and it was live when the touchpad launched and also simultaneously died :( webOS multitasking, and gesture navigation were way ahead of their time.

I want to downvote you because what you said sounds so absurd to me as an “old” (self identify at 40 thanks tech) person. Thanks for saying this - it’s important to understand that the way things were are not alway the way things are :)

Agree with your points. My use case doesn’t involve gmail so can see how that complicated things especially from a UX perspective. I wish IMAP/standards had more of a say in email like they did (sort of) for web.
