Temporarily freezing the funds is understandable, just long enough to ask for clarification or documentation from the merchant. Instead they decided to go the Google route of ignoring your customer because "algorithm said no".

Stripe is going the way of PayPal it seems. Many people learned this lesson the hard way with PayPal now they will learn it with Stripe I guess. You have no real recourse when these companies decide to steal your money and their incentives

I was recently on a tiny island in Puerto Rico and noticed they had changed all their streetlights to red. It turns out they were confusing turtle hatchlings. The hatchlings would normally follow the moonlight out to sea but were being conf

Totally insane that you can be prosecuted now for letting your kids play in a park. If this is truly the whole story, I hope she gets a nice fat settlement and the agency that did this gets gutted. Unfortunately that's almost never how

Just wasted 20 minutes trying to figure out how to order. It kept saying no shipping rates found for my address. Turns out they aren't allowing US orders at the moment but they don't actually say that on the website you just get a

Oh you sweet child. This is already a thing and has been for a decade at least. Anyone with enough money can hire a firm based out of a dodgy country that will abuse the DMCA, Content Reporting mechanisms and insider contacts to get whateve

You're not exactly wrong but your comment isn't really reflective of anything meaningful. Correlation does not always equal causation. And I know a LOT of people with the same experiences. The commonality of these experiences lead

Some of my very few pleasant experiences were in Japan. I don't doubt that Singapore would be fine too but public transit was generally faster there so I never took a cab. London definitely has a better standard of cars and service, bu

I am glad the taxi industry worked for you as a driver for a while. But it was unbelievably bad for consumers for so long, I have no sympathy for anyone related to the industry pre Uber at all. You might have been a good driver but most wer

I've taken cabs all over the world in the pre Uber days (Literally, like 60+ countries on 5 continents). I can count the number of normal or pleasant experiences I had in a cab on one hand, out of HUNDREDS of rides. Not all cab drivers
