Look up how the USA treated the Hmong after they pulled out of Vietnam. This is nothing new unfortunately, I hope the translators and workers made plans to get out on their own because it was virtually guaranteed that they would be abandone

I second this opinion. Guimaras Mangoes are simply the best. I don't know anyone who's tried them and disagrees.

You're so unbelievably naive I have to think you are trolling. Or 10 years old. I honestly can't tell which.
94.
by ciguy 5y ago
Exactly. This myth that the USA bails its citizens out of sketchy situations needs to die.
95.
by ciguy 5y ago
No, they absolutely will not. I won't go into details but I can tell you from personal experience this is unequivocally false. The USA will in most cases do exactly nothing for their citizens in distress. Even the local US embassies wi

How is this different than established players in the space like GeekBot?

by ciguy 5y ago
Yep, I'm already setting the ground work for a migration. But they were really excited about using Google Cloud, so it will be a hard sell.

Nope, fairly new account, billing added. Looks like they limit the number of projects which can have billing attached to 3 by default. So any created after that just have no billing associated, with no warning. What a Trainwreck.

So yes, you're high? You are making so many weird assumptions and jumping to strange conclusions here. Or you're a Google shill, I honestly can't tell which.

by ciguy 5y ago
There is no consequence to my business. Are you drunk or high right now? Because you're coming across as weirdly paranoid and reading way too much into the situation.

There is no previous consultant this is a seed stage startup trying to deploy a simple web app. What are you even on about?

I have not either in the past, which is why I think this account must be flagged.

Yep, I don't exactly love AWS either but at least it generally works in a sane and predictable manner.

Also as I mentioned we did get through to someone via the Swiss number, they did not help.

What number are you seeing on that page? The one they give me (1-800-654-2533) is out of service when I call it.

As a dual citizen of the US and an EU country, I have first hand experience with both systems. In the US if you want to start a new company you can basically start selling or offering your service and then sort out legal, accounting and reg

I found his review of The Count of Monte Cristo hilarious. I read it as a teen and it is in my opinion one of the greatest novels ever written. Apparently he only read it for idle distraction during the pandemic and was surprised by how goo

125 million english speakers is still around ~10% of the population right? So if ~90% don't speak English then saying "most" seems accurate.

The plain of jars area specifically was a dump site for bombers that could not drop their bombs over Hanoi due to weather. I believe that's partly why so many did not explode, they were not armed/activated prior to the drop. There

Agree. I remember distinctly meeting exactly one other tourist the whole time I was there, though to be fair it was cold and the off season. Still one of the coolest and weirdest places I have ever been.

I had the privilege to be able to visit this place a few years ago. I rented a motorcycle and drove around to the 3 largest jar sites. What this article fails to mention is that the surrounding area is one of the most bombed places on earth

This is somewhat true in that so many people have worked around them that a fix would likely break a lot of existing users implementations.

The AWS forums used to have bug reports that were ranked by upvotes. AWS didn't seem to pay much attention though, the highest voted bugs stayed that way for years with no change or acknowledgement. I haven't personally been on th
