But really.. as nice as X11 network is, it's mostly just as easy to use vnc, nx, rdp, whatever. If that means a faster, lighter, better displayserver, go ahead, i say.

I can play FullHD DTS movies (rips of my own blurays kept at best quality possible) over Wifi without any hickup at all. That's fine. The UI sometimes could be faster/smoother, but it's good enough. Moving between menu items sometimes drops

Not Google TV. Not even close. Great work but what are the advantages over XBMC on the raspberry pi?

Just buy a raspberry pi + case for that amount of money and install openelec/raspbmc. I did that last week, it's a fantastic combination!

Sounds like a good plan. People nowadays are far too exposed to media everywhere. News is 99% indoctrination or just flat out crap filling the hole between new horror-stories. Social media has even lower quality except for a few select sour

I just got my Pi yesterday.. now it replaced my mediacenter (a Boxee). Love it, it's such a great project! No problem at all playing FullHD DTS movies over WLAN at all, it's smooth! Even overclocked it to 1000 MHz and no problem. The UI cou

As someone who ever wanted to learn erlang but didn't like the syntax, i'm hoping elixir will do it easy for "non-functional" programmes to enter the world of erlang.

Well, i did the same and came to vastly different numbers. It's easy to do: Do a git checkout and run git ls-files | grep -v udev | xargs -n1 -d'\n' -i git blame {} | perl -n -e '/\s\((.*?)\s[0-9]{4}/ && print "$1\n"' | sort -f | un

That's just not true, you are talking bullshit here. You can look into the git repository yourself and see who contributed most lines. And it was Kay Sievers, not even Lennart Poettering. edit: @nknight followup: Did you even look into git

Sounds great.. i'm using Debian on my Desktop and i would welcome such a move! Let the good old sys-v init system die, it has served long enough. I understand that most old init scripts would even work in systemd, so i imagine the migration

As much as i don't think it's funny, i don't think it encourages raping per se. The picture is just one of those "trying to provoke people" pictures. I've recently been at a comedian show where everyone laughed at very, very offensive and r

That's fine in itself but Canonical seems to fail to make educated decisions on technical details and is not behaving "nice" when it first says "we'll support Wayland" and then abandon it. It would even be fine to abandon Wayland but Canoni
