If you're asking the question then the answer is probably yes. You're asking this question for a reason. Be 100% honest with yourself and ask "what would the optimal version of me be doing instead of reading HN". If you&

Yes I agree! I didn't really make myself clear. I feel that if yarn kept its strategy but had more senior developers writing the core software I think it could have been able to outpace npm in terms of features and speed. If this had h

This is my line of reasoning, not necessarily the OPs. There's a book called Thinking that (I think) covers this topic. I'm assuming you're a well educated man that had a good upbringing. As that man, do you want to go to war

I jumped on node around the same time and I've come to an opposite conclusion. The things I liked was the offline cache and the yarn integrity. However there was just too many issues regarding its dependency on npm and not playing nice

I checked the GitHub to work out what rr is: > rr is a lightweight tool for recording and replaying execution of applications (trees of processes and threads). More information about the project, including instructions on how to install,

I agree that it's terrible and it promotes bad behaviour. I'm yet to see a system that outperforms it though.

Other comments say this guy should learn how to communicate better. I agree with that. Knowing the person you're talking to helps greatly. The average recruiter has a high school certificate and that's it. They're hired to do

Nice find. I thought it was a parody there for a while. You can tell it's aimed at taking advantage of people that don't have much. "If I invest in this coin I can fly a jet pack around Dubai!"

My cousin told me I should invest in a particular cryptocoin the other day. He knows little about computers and nothing about why this altcoin would be valuable. When everyday people are investing in these coins to make a quick buck it make

Aren't all of these bike sharing startups a symptom of a bigger cause? Afaik there's a huge property bubble in China, particularly in Beijing. A lot of people have become billionaires quickly and they're looking to invest tha

I quite like this idea. I run a basic http server with a nodejs backend. It gets ~3000 hits a month. It costs around $6 on AWS. It costs around 0.2c per request. It would be simple to build a system that charges per use - most SaaS companie
