I'd buy meal kits from Whole Foods, etc as a way to learn to cook. You could probably get me to even pay subscription fee if the quality was good and you can deliver via the Whole Foods home delivery couriers. You have all the ingredie

I would totally buy recipe kits from a refrigerator in Whole Foods if that was an option. There’d be no wasted packaging, you still get the satisfaction of cooking and it’s mostly just a marketing gimmick on things already in the store.

I’ve found that overly using spec leads to more maintenance than upside. We went all in using spec and generators when they were released and ended up having to debug the specs themselves. 2c

I had a colleague that would make it a habit to greet everyone by name in the morning. E.g. ‘Goodmorning Dave’, ‘Goodmorning Ben’. It felt a bit weird at first but overtime him showing up was a point where the whole team felt connected and

I want this but to cancel byzantine gym memberships and other reoccurring charges. Currently trying to cancel a gym membership that won’t answer my calls, reply to letters and insists I have to come in person from 3000 miles away.

Isn’t it still an escalation of privileges? You’ve gone from having a proper session of system A (limited damage potentially) into code execution on machine Z.

Moviepass should’ve gotten wholesale prices a tenth of the ticket to make it sustainable. At the end of the day, that’s 10x more traffic to concessions etc that theatres can absorb. They also could’ve worked out a profit sharing deal with t

This is my experience hiring Clojure engineers in a small startup- things became dogmatic and opinionated at a time when we were existentially challenged with building a product.

My experience: I’ve posted SF only jobs before and often the only response I get is from candidates outside the US. Since I’m just an IC trying to hire for my team, I can’t comment on anyone’s eligibility for visas etc and end up having to

I think this is an unwinnable position. Software projects are multi-faceted and you’ve taken on the role as the savior- it’s not just lack of tests bringing this team down. I wish you luck but don’t beat yourself up if this doesn’t work out

I work in mobile performance and have built out an automated testing workflow for our CI system to try and prevent big breaking changes to these types of phones. The issue with testing these phones is the device introduces lots of variance

I don’t think it’s referring to immigration but rather the economic success associated with the American Dream- owning a house, a car and having a plan for retirement.

I worked at Apple doing phone tech support during this time and it was a big issue. You could take the iPhone and hold it one way to drop the signal almost completely. For users, it was incredibly frustrating.
