I think it actually might be the best spot because the far side of the moon is always positioned facing away from earth. Is there anywhere else in the solar system that can claim that?

So, we shouldn’t make laws even if we think they are good because we aren’t exactly sure exactly how we will enforce them? The legislative and executive functions are separate in our system. The former passes laws and the latter figures out

"Small government" doesn't mean what you imply, it means that government exists to fill the gaps and clean up some of the "messiness" created by free markets. Reasonable regulation and public safety is part of that.

It depends. “Poor people” cannot be lumped into a single group. Some respond to their problems like you mention: they dwell on the scarcity and try to problem solve. I’m not convinced that group is the majority of poor (at least in develope

I can imagine some septuagenarian dictator thinking the exact same thing and halting all LLM development. How lucky we are to not have a centrally planned economy!

Do you have some hard numbers to back this up? What percentage of that aid is just things we were going to “throw away”? I’d be willing to bet 5% or less of total aid falls in the category you mention.

I don’t get it. Is the point of this change to get real people to delete their reviews in favor of the “fake” reviews made by companies to suppress wages?

How intriguing! I wonder what would happen if we tried a system that didn’t allow private ownership of companies? Oh we have, you say? Many times? Famines, poor economies, mass genocide, dictators? Well, surely none of those experiments wer

People are absolutely NOT 99% nature. People are born with some predisposition to certain behaviors, but that is far from being set in stone. Good, attentive parenting is the difference maker.

Well, of course some minimal technical competence is a requirement. I’m just saying that an unnecessarily negative attitude is more damaging to a group than one below average contributor.

I never said it was either-or. Some people are super competent and have a great attitude while others can be below average and make everyone around them miserable. I’ve seen every combination.

I'd rather work with a slightly less qualified person who has a positive attitude than an overqualified person with a terrible attitude. The second type might write great code, but is energy draining for the whole team.

Being concerned about China is not xenophobia. We're talking about a nation who at worst is our enemy and at best a geopolitical foe who is harvesting massive amounts of data to use for purposes which are much worse than targeted ads.
