I mean, nothing protects you from act of war or act of god. But that’s not what we are talking about here right? Risk of inflation in peacetime is something BlackRock has to considered. I’m not saying they are right or wrong, just that real

If users experiencing issues with the ambee library in this package, they will knock on my door. And I'm not willing to support that or accept that burden. Especially as I don't see a good repacking reason in this case. https:&

Assume your side project is something that our society accepts as normal business, you can just say you were the CTO/CEO/Founder of "Advanced AI, LLC". If it's open source, you can just flat out say that.

Only way to close all services in one go is to close your account. AFAIK, this isn't completely true[1]. Closing your account might not automatically terminate all your active resources. You might continue to incur charges for some

You know what the next post is going to be, right? AWS auto delete my EC2 with all my source code and data on it because my billing alert was too low!

Did AWS make Glacier free? At the end of the day, you are renting hardware, not buying it. I do think AWS should've done a better job at billing notification and documenting the potential disaster.

But you still have to pay for long term storage, that means your bill is still going up.

What does cut off means? If you add a lot of files to your S3, does it mean S3 should stop allowing more uploads or should AWS start deleting your files?

How often do you see something like this? Any workaround besides not working with the customer? I worked on both sides. This is super common for large shops with tight IT policy. My previous job provide critical services to our customers,

Billing alerts. That should be the second thing you set up with AWS after MFA on the root. For managed services, never put them into production until you understand the cost structure. Unlimited scalability == unlimited cost.

I would start with Docker. At least that's what I do, dev/build on Mac, production on Linux.

Don't you need to be an accredited investor? I listened to several of these platforms over the years, the biggest hurdle seemed to be "compliance".

Maybe because of 50%-50%, your engineers just pile everything onto those In-Office days and do nothing on At-Home days. The beatings will continue until morale (productivity) improves.
