It's the price you pay to subsidise others who use those services for free. I don't disagree with you, this is a horrible trend. The "race to the bottom" with apps will leave them in a similar state (Oh, wait, they're already like that - Ai

Just checked it out on my tablet (iPad) - I don't see much of a difference (of course, it's responsive!) except for the menu, which works pretty well :) Minor points: - When in "mobile mode", the search box changes colour so it doesn't look

Constructive criticism: The shadow on the logo is too dark and looks wierd. Also, I'd put a call to action, like "Download" or "Learn" in a more visible format (maybe on a button) in a larger font, above all the "blocks", along with the con

Extending your poorly thought out analogy: in the real world, a person who uses "free" services is equivalent to a homeless person - you get almost everything for free, in exchange for other people getting to see what you're doing. If you c

They still have it installed on some of the PCs at my school, but it's never used. But yeah, they way they deal with whatever they do teach is pitiful. No generics, exception handling, threading etc with Java. :-/ (worst part: kids are taug

It's pretty much the same in India: LOGO -> BASIC -> Java + problem solving.

I've read hundreds of essays about this, and India's "brain drain" and written several myself. What is common to all of them is that they forget to take into account the background of most IIT grads - middle class and lower middle class. So

Google has explicitly stated that they do not intend to, and will not use Glass for advertising. This feature is similar to "Find My Friends" and is clearly opt-in (as it requires prior training) -- have you even read the article?

That's what they're trying to do here - they're trying to push out the product pipeline they inherited from Motorola, cutting their losses, and preparing for a more "unified" future with fewer, but better devices (nexii?)

I don't think this is creepy at all - in fact, this is how human vision works. Besides, the fact that the article's on a website called "Macgasm" doesn't lend much credence to the opinions expressed in it.

The original was on DesignModo's Github account, but was taken down due to an unjustified DMCA takedown request from LayerVault. Github's DMCA policies prevent that from being made available again within 10 days. This version is hosted on i
