If you were one of a few surgeons capable of performing highly specialised surgery, wouldn't you leave cuts and bruises for the interns and the nurses?

If you can do all that, you shouldn't be working on simple CRUD applications.

Yeah, I think I did. Looks like it doesn't handle resizes properly if you start out with a small(ish) window.

Contrary to what everyone here seems to think, I've actually used (something like) RoR (Django, to be specific.) Although frameworks simplify the process quite a bit, there's still a lot of stuff that doesn't really need a "proper developer

It didn't sound like "anti-college anti-credentialling" at all. All the OP was trying to say was that the traditional method of teaching ie. "all theory" didn't work for him, while a mixed hands-on/practical/theoretical approach did. Your c

That is (the official/BDFL) Guido's stance on the matter too - whenever possible, use Python, but switch to C for computationally expensive tasks. ( https://plus.google.com/115212051037621986145/posts/HajXHPGN... )

Possibly based on the implicit assumption that there's no intersection between the set of people who use jQuery ie. developers and designers (who are sane enough not to use IE) and the set of people who use IE.

Related query: I've just started with some JS MVVM frameworks, and I was wondering if any of them can "reverse bind" ie. enable you to render part of your templates on the server and utilise data from that based on a template to recreate mo
