It’s basically the same idea as natural gas. Pressure is higher and you need to be more careful with material compatibility. But otherwise everything is the same in principle. Ultimately, it’s pretty laughable to think that a society capabl

It is a lot like email. There is no centralized email network either. Ultimately, people will realize that they are really looking for a specific community rather than joining "Mastodon" itself.

That seems like an incredibly dumb decision. They do realize that RISC-V is right around the corner, and could quickly end much of the ARM chip market if licensing deals are this onerous?

The report is wrong. It doesn't even make sense since there is clearly a dot above 200 Wh/kg in 2012. Meaning the graph is only claiming a 40-50% improvement in the last decade. But regardless, the report is wrong because we most

There has been no more meaningful progressive in batteries in over a decade. The energy density of batteries today (~265 Wh/kg) is marginally better than where it was in 2012 (~250 Wh/kg). It's been entirely a function of cos

The Nook was a failure because B&N does not have the resources to maintain their own platform. Samsung is probably the only real competitor to Apple here. However, in the long run, it is likely that open platforms will win. Eventually,

Every new stage of technology development does this. People marveled at the wealth that oil created. Steam engines and coal stunned people by how much stuff they could carrier or quantities of steel they could make. Hell, even hunter-gather

The lack of awareness I am talking about also applies to electrolysis. The current state of electrolyzer technology is already good enough to do the job. Future advancements will make this a no-brainer. This is similar to the rise of photov

I've come to realize that most environmentalists don't really understand climate change. I guess it is similar to how PETA protests animal abuse but in a very dumb manner. Sure, there is a problem at the bottom of it, but these gr

The recent appearance of hydrogen energy storage has basically refuted this argument. We can now store all of the renewable energy we want. The only problem is the lack of awareness among environmentalists and engineers.

Same with memory bus. The 3060 Ti, 3070 and 3070 Ti all had a 256-bit bus. Only with the 3060 did it drop to a 192-bit bus.

You are not suggesting li-ion. You brought up li-air, which is a fuel cell. You are suggesting fuel cells as the long-term answer, but specifically excluding hydrogen fuel cells. This basically special pleading, and it is pure nonsense. You

There is no possibility of commercial quantities of lithium being extracted from seawater. It exists at concentrations of 0.1-0.2ppm. It will never happen. You have swallowed myths and fantasies of your own. Also, a fuel cell is a battery.
