Accept the 30% voucher that represents what a typical student getting into private school costs the system instead of demanding 50% as fair when that leaves the system too impoverished to deal with the students that remain.

I think it’s more important for the game to be meaningful than difficult. How well do you know a neighborhood is deeply meaningful. How well do you know 2.5 neighborhoods isn’t. I’d strongly recommend sacrificing difficulty for meaning here

Every proposal I’ve seen for vouchers tries to tie the amount to average spending per student. My point is that’s fundamentally unfair because private schools are only interested in students that cost below the average to educate. They work

The circle is a bit large as in larger than a single neighborhood for my city. I feel like the game is useful when it asks you how well you know a single neighborhood. It’s less interesting when it asks you how well you know 2.5 neighborhoo

I think the author is fundamentally correct on the main point: the interface for environmental review needs to change. The current interface is that you generate a report and anyone can sue to require that report to have additional details

True school choice is an illusion as long as private schools are free to decline unwanted students that cost more to teach. The advocates of such policies tend to ignore the fact that it would leave disabled and other special needs students

It’s not always a nice problem to have. Before a change in tax policy under Trump it was possible to have taxes due on some of the gains the stock had made before you were able to sell it. At least with this type of liquidity program you co

It’s very hard to do good real estate pricing models from raw data. You can get all sorts of metrics on the property statistics but one important factor in the cost of the home is the state of renovation. Since most listings don’t have a hi

These laws are hard to get actually correct. The major problem is court delays. There is a very high bar for kicking someone out before they get their day in court about whether it is fair to do so. This seems eminently reasonable but t

I’m not making an argument about what taste is or which tastes are correct. I’m merely interested in establishing taste exists and the “all works are equally good” school of thought is wrong. We could have a stronger argument separately abo
