Great story. I think a lot of people would have a similar story if they cared to analyze their success a little more critically and be willing to give a little more credit to luck rather than their own efforts.

Because its not the same in the good old USA. We use it as an identifier but also as a security device. It's a bad system.

Nothing is wrong with that. Many, maybe most, people don't work on things they love and care deeply about so the idea of working 10+ hours straight sounds awful.

My understanding is that the issue with declining population is that typically that also means an aging population. Younger people are not having children which causes a whole slew of issues.

That's actually not really true. You still have to interview. A referral or being recruited directly isnt a free pass. You'll probably get some additional prep but the person recruiting you cant just say let's make this perso

Take social media off your phone. Install a news feed blocker that forces you to toggle on the news feed for your site of choice when you want to scroll. That helped me cut my social media time from 1+ hour a day to less than 15 minutes.

This really depends. Are you talking about FANG+ type companies? Doesnt matter who you are you will probably have to whiteboard. Outside of FANG? I'm sure you can bypass many technicals with credentials.

Sure. Toss them on the side or something. Just don't expect them to get brought up often. It shows you code outside of work which some employers value. Add a link to github if they are public.

I've got ADHD and 7 minutes of guided mediation in the mornings changed my life. I didnt believe it would when a doctor suggested it. But it did. I cant really explain it but I sure wish I knew about it earlier in my life.
