As someone who was a recruiter for a long time... Recruiters don't care about side projects. What they care about is being able to say a candidates has some technical interests outside of work. Do you give talks? Attend a meetup often?

Yeah they are no longer allowing unlimited time because covid seems to be coming to a close (or at least the USA is treating it like it is). It wasnt free before. I don't love the move but it's not surprising at all.

I still feel that it's an oversimplification. If easy is defined by a work that can be easily defined and then needs to be done many things can be overly simplified. But I understand what you are trying to say.

I'm just not understanding what you want them to do bar creating their own search engine. You want other sources to be checked if a search returns zero results to prevent something like the tank man issue, right? How would one accompli

Many of these companies are letting more senior people stay remote while requiring L4 and below to be in office. If they lose a ton of L3's and L4's to other companies its a loss but much less of a loss than losing L5's+

You should shut down your linkedin if you are not actively looking for a job. It's a public resume which is a security concern at best.

Okay so you expect content to be quality checked and if not strong enough then for it to be sourced from another search engines data or to be pulled themselves? Again sounds like high expectations for a 150 person company.
