Yea, I'm a decade+ Reddit user, and it's honestly wild hitting the site in an incongito window because the default subs are so different than the smaller subreddits.

That number seems to indicate why they've started to use all the dark patterns for people to create an account. You can no longer see comments other than at the top level. Some subreddits require registration to view. All these things

No that's a fair critique, if your application is dealing with a large amount of pretty darn static data and "refreshing" the database is as simple as switching to a backup, you could make the argument it's a lot more at

If I make the change in code, I can roll it out, test it in prod, and then slowly migrate traffic over in very standard and well defined ways. If I deploy to the database and something goes wrong, I need to really trust my rollback scripts.

Economics as a concept is a bad example for a black box because what would you say the input and output would be? Isn't economics the study of all the different black boxes and how they interact in general? Like if you took the honey m

It's not just the mobile app, but a lot of the stuff on the regular reddit site is full of dark patterns. They want you to create an account to see comments below the top levels. old.reddit.com still gives the experience that you'

I think this might not be a solvable problem. If you have a brick and mortar store, you're going to have to use it to drive value in ways that an online business can't. If your business model doesn't really support your expen

But you don't go from iPod earbuds to high end audio speakers in a jump (usually). I'd say most people buying high end stuff already have a solid pair of headphones at the very least, and monitor speakers are, by definition, fairl

I'm honestly not sure we're in the trough. The value of Youtube is pretty tightly correlated to the amount of content on Youtube. While you could argue that the signal to noise ratio is worse, it's very hard to argue that the

An attack on a carrier group is one of the conditions for the use of nuclear missiles. If you hit a carrier group (and especially if you hit a carrier group and win), you're gambling with mutually assured destruction.

It doesn't have to be huge, I don't think you're going to get a ton of people to move based on this financial incentive alone. A lot of people might have friends, family, or other ties to the region, and this is just what the
