I'm more familiar with SQS than RabbitMQ, but have used both, and have chosen between queue and stream based solutions. Kafka is a stream, and can be replayed (if you have it set up to store stuff). Rabbit is simply a queue, and when t

Good card counters are always a team, you can't go far solo as it's pretty easy to tell when you're betting 20 dollars one hand, and 500 another. You usually have a few smaller players just playing fixed bets who call over so

I think he's referring to the feedback loop that hoarding causes. If you're confident you'll be able to buy the good in the future, you'll buy less now. If a hoarder clears out the supermarket, that means that everyone t

I mean, I'm a big fan and resident of the US, but it's accurate to say we're not doing the best job with our infrastructure. We have a lot of trouble with aging bridges: https://www.artba.org/2018/01/

There are a ton of reasons taking a loan is better than buying outright if you have any sort of risk tolerance and you can get a low APR. Over 5 years, on a 20k car, inflation would have eaten ~2k purchasing power of the loan, while the car

You've said this a couple times, like it's an instant cure. However, basic economics of supply and demand mean you're not getting usual prices on inflation hedged goods. The guy that has inflation hedged goods is not going to

This seems weird, I don't know you would want to link your enjoyment with a game to it's unsolvability. Like don't you enjoy a game to enjoy a game? You can't beat Carlsen either, but you enjoyed the game at your level.

This is a really good explanation, but you would think market forces would kick in. If a company drops 20% (or even 3%!) from an event that doesn't effect the business itself, you're going to get smart money buying. I'd have

Efficiency isn't the metric people care about on either side of the equation though. Management only cares about results. If you work 3 hours at 100% efficiency, 5 at 75% and 3 at 50%, that's still more results than working 4 at 1
