How does ethics play into this at all? Pfizer is delivering vaccines as fast as they can, and at this point the bottleneck is logistics. It’s not exactly easy to set up the infrastructure to administer 14 billion shots. The fact that Pfizer

I wonder what quality the “raw” camera has. My understanding is that the software has a bigger difference on the end result than the actual optics. So much so that Apple has a dedicated image processor as part of the Bionic chip. Not to men

> If DO_NOT_TRACK suppresses the honest software Ahh, my big issue is that I don’t mind tracking in genuinely honest software. Want to know how many people are still running your app on 32-bit machines and that’s it? Be my guest! It do

This would be the demise of the human race. I’m not entirely opposed to that, though. When AI inevitably outperforms humans on almost all tasks, who am I to say humans deserve to be given those tasks?

The cure will always be 5 years away (until someone figures out how to convince pharma that they don’t actually need that $45B/year that comes from selling treatments).

What does it do for shades that aren’t those 8? Does it apply any sort of dithering? Maybe it just needs a better lookup table or some preprocessing. I’ve seen some impressive 1-bit displays, so 8 shades shouldn’t be harder than that.

I’m slowly making that switch. It helps to have Plex Amp, which lets me stream my (lossless) library to my phone over the internet.

My boss has a video of someone jacking up his Model 3 and sliding underneath (thankfully leaving with nothing). I guess thieves aren’t always the brightest bulbs.

Just curious, are you on the free tier? Just wondering if 300k queries per month is sufficient for the average person. I have no reference to base that number on.

Have you noticed all the ads say “Hackers can spy on your connection when you log into your bank at Starbucks.” That’s complete FUD. HTTPS completely avoids this issue ( especially with a bank). Very few websites use HTTP now. While VPNs d

Do insurance companies actually pay full price for these drugs? I was under the impression that (at least in the US) it’s a bit of a racket where the bill will say $1000 and insurance will make a deal with the supplier to pay $100 (while si

What is “annual cost based on length of therapy”? If you take a pill for 3 months at $10k/month does it have an “annual cost” of $120k or $30k? And if it’s the latter then it would be less confusing if “annual” were omitted.
