Sounds reasonable the way you put it and I both understand and agree with it. The reason I went off topic is I saw an unrestricted debate on an off-topic subject and jumped in. I have read the rules thoroughly when I made my account. As my

I see the real issue in the lack of competition. Which unfortunately is an inherent attribute of the nature of social sites, as the natural tendency is to form a monopoly even quicker than in other economic areas. This makes me not buy the

You're making an awful lot of assumptions about me. I understand your point but strongly disagree. I was about to reiterate my point with a different example, but I suspect you already getting me, as I see no discussion on gender ident

Be aware I am leading you on, but would you say that was more due to the spread of alternative ideas on social media (on covid and lockdowns, gender politics, race politics, geopolitics), distrust in the political system (politicians not be

I'm familiar with the PISA study as being an objective measurement for what you're describing. If I remember correctly the US scored somewhere in the middle of the field, just above Croatia (technically a 3rd world country, as whe

You forgot the one just recently, where I called a person insane for stating the US is in a good position to win a nuclear exchange with Russia. I do not come to this site to have an open and fair debate with idiots. It is your job to have

Covid is a very big part of the answer to this question. Unfortunately on HN covid is a heavily moderated topic and only one opinion is allowed. So I'd like to tell you from my point of view, but my posts were removed for being pro sci

Literally 0 of that is true. And this is how it spreads. I bet you've read this a thousand times and thought to yourself you don't have to check if any of it is true, since so many people cannot be wrong. I've got bad news fo

The method that worked for me was working on actual projects. Build something useful for yourself. And just search the web and ask chatbots and keep hammering on it until it's done, one problem at a time. Maybe forgetting the bigger pi

Interesting. I studied propaganda academically (communicology studies) and would have argued it's gotten worse in the last 20 years, due to new technologies. That is not a strong opinion of mine and your post made me think. I'd li

Racism against US economic rivals has been the MO for decades on western social media. It's certainly widely known that the US has "embedded operatives" at the biggest tech firms. This is what they do with their time. Censor

Id say my proposed system is the one most commonly in use. If you google "coat hanger" I'd say 90% of them have turning heads. What I don't see existing is shallow closets.

This is a solved problem. Solved by making the hook rotatable so you can hang the clothes at an angle and thus save the same amount of room as with the discussed method, without all the downsides. I wonder if that inventor was also showered

This is the last straw for me. I know I cannot just move my business to some non-existent competition in Soviet America, but they don't control everything on the web just yet. Mail, storage, even ads can be had elsewhere. And this is n

I will always judge Americans by the way they handled the Epstein/Maxwell case. One was painfully obviously executed by the FBI to protect pedophiles, the other had a court proceeding where the main focus was on protecting the identiti

I remember this. It was seen as an extremely serious breach of trust here in Europe. I remember the media trying to downplay it and dumdums on facebook spreading nonsense like "This is nothing, everybody spies. move on, sheeesh".
