Xbox 1 was x86. The 360 was PPC, but more recent than the G4. As a matter of fact, the first 360 dev kits were PowerMac G5.

Does anyone have any info on the early days of this company? They apparently announced a 40M seed round in 2021 but were actually founded in 2019.

The display price in the BoM is absolutely not where the market is at today… I'm not even sure it has ever been there. I'd love to have more info on where they are supposedly getting a panel for this price.

There is pretty much no guarantee at all regarding what code a compiler will emit for bitfields. Per spec, the order and sizes can change. The author does mention some of this but their conclusion is misguided: it’s not a portability proble

Yes indeed. But if, like us, you have full control over how your device operates, then you at least have a path to make it plug'n'play on Windows > 7. Before that, we were out of luck.

Oh, well, maybe :) My point was that in Windows <= 7 you needed to install a custom driver to allow WebUSB to work with your specific device. From Windows 8 and up, you can use WebUSB to talk to your device without installing anything at

We have been using WebUSB extensively for 4 years now, and we are extremely happy with the result so far. We make a graphing calculator and we want our users to be able to easily update it. We considered a bunch of options, and WebUSB defin

I think this is useless fluff. It’s essentially just a few compiler flags being changed. I’m pretty sure the Chromium engineers are very well aware of those and made the decision to use the one they did. I don’t know which ones, but optin

Dumb question: why would a RNG need a crypto hash function? I get why it would be useful for a PRNG, but isn’t a true RNG simply supposed to gather entropy from the real world and just spit it back?

I understand how the example can leak a resource from the OS standpoint, but I don’t understand how this ends up being a memory leak for the Python process. It’s not the first time I am hearing about memleaks for a GC-ed language, and I nev
