Do they get Tesla stock or bonuses? Total comp at companies like Tesla is weighted pretty heavily by stock usually.

I wonder if we'll have something akin to AVs for these models in the future. I can imagine it looking for malicious patterns in the weights, like analyzing if the model's concept of a "secret command" has any special con

The exact same thing is true of binaries in general. If you can't see the source, you are just trusting whoever compiled the binary that the thing you are running is not doing anything malicious. This just seems like framing an old pro

That is really interesting and it mirrors my intuition: there are 0 toasters on the market that have "Made in the USA" stamped on them. I think that there may be a decent sized market of people who will pay extra for that stamp on

Doesn’t this same thing happen with geological processes all over the world? Like when a volcano explodes or forms under water?

idk I do think it's worth pointing out sometimes that the ways these models mess up are very similar to the ways that humans mess up. It's funny you can almost always look at an obvious failure of an LLM and think of an equivalent

I agree that inequality is not a good thing, but a large part of the outrage is just the fact that it seems unfair. We can read articles like this, but there are also interesting facts like how a huge percentage of poor Americans have a pro
