I’ve noticed that there are a lot of new vaccines, and that they are using mRNA tech. In the US, vaccines are exempt from liability lawsuits. Are all of these new vaccines also going to be exempt in the same way that old vaccines are?
Before the pandemic these treatments would have been labeled as gene therapy, but now with their new label as vaccines it seems like there’s a huge incentive to create gene therapies and call them vaccines to get the valuable liability immunity.
Someone please correct me if that is wrong, I don’t want to spread misinformation.

Doesn't take that many bogus or maybe not bogus product liability lawsuits to eat all the profit. Faced with drug companies exiting the business Congress set up a separate compensation system for vaccine injuries. I think drug companies pay into a fund that then gets disbursed to people harmed by vaccines. Guiding idea is to keep these cases out of ordinary courts where judges and juries aren't competent and into the hands of a panel who are competent. That way injured people are compensated and drug companies liability is limited.
