There are a shocking number of low-effort reddit-like replies here. Can we please not turn Hacker News into yet another blackhole of "joke" replies?

My wife has made hard boiled eggs, risotto (kinda) and yogurt in it. Didn't expect any of those. It advertised yogurt, but I didn't expect it to turn out as well as it did.

This is pretty funny for me to read. As the article mentions many people apparently did, I picked up an Instant Pot on Prime Day last year. I had no idea there was such a following around it until reading this, I just wanted a pressure cook

The Gish Trot, then? I joke, but the whole point of the Gish Gallop is to rapid fire weak arguments. I don't think it exactly fits. As an aside, does anyone know of a good source that categorizes and explains these modern underhanded a

Very good points. My own bias is to believe the claims of the scientific community and is thoroughly revealed in my language. Perhaps I'm the one being bilked.

This is ego, politics and career ambitions undermining modern science. Unfortunately, the fact that this is occurring so rampantly will bolster anti-intellectuals and give them a very potent argument to point to when presented with facts. T

Rackspace spun off both Cloud Sites team and Jungle Disk last year, along with shutting down a team or two. Seems they're focusing on slimming down.

If you read the link, you'll see that one of the people conducting the witch-hunt created an issue calling for a CoC. It's a good example of the mentality and its link to CoCs.: "strand referenced this issue on Jun 18, 2015

I wonder how possible it would be to create a jailed environment on Android or iOS that can not access any of the data on your phone and could be entered by putting in a false password. That would allow you to enter your "password"

I agree with this very strongly. It's similar to what happened with blogging. Early on, blogging was people who knew how to do something very well writing about their knowledge and experience. Then it became profitable and the filler a
