Considering how much money pay per view sporting events are able to charge, there is probably a lot of upside to the price. This could be a lot like movie theater tickets where the viewership plummets, but the audience that remains is payin

I'm not sure about Netflix, but certainly on Amazon, Hulu, and HBO Go some shows get forced pre-rolls promoting other shows. Contextually it seems relevant but it certainly is a gateway to more ads. My prediction: once Netflix growth f

I would prefer to log everything on an owned system and test out bots through third-party APIs. Poking around with options now, but will probably just bootstrap with human operators and pre-canned responses until something makes sense. It&#

Here are a few things to be considered, and have all be well discussed on hn. Some things we know for sure such as: - Ride sharing means much fewer vehicles needed to do the same thing. Current numbers would indicate by quite a lot, this wa

I definitely wrote things making fun of Jet.com, but now I order household goods from there rather than Amazon. I even see a strong appeal of physically going to Target now verse trying to buy sheets from Amazon. On Amazon, for every item y

Mathematically I don't know if it is possible to eliminate all returns from ad spend market wide. Then again, negative interest rates should have been impossible. Every trend I see points to greater ad reach. AR + automated transportat

Being in the computing world we take deflation for granted. Things get cheaper and better, year after year and in a non-linear fashion. No one argues that things would be way better in 2016 if everyone had to pay $26,000 for 1980s era 8086s

The unfortunate reality of censorship is that it allows ideas to be rewritten because the past has vanished. Re-branding doesn't even require a name change. Take a look at Wikipedia; even though controversial topics may be locked down

The made up stuff already exists. The explanations a person gives for doing a particular thing perhaps has less to do with the logic of why and more to do with some fundamental instinct to keep busy.

This is exactly why so much suspect ad inventory continues to be sold online. Back in the old days an advertiser could watch TV and say definitively if their ad played in the purchased slot or not. The larger problem here is, depending on w

Due to the TCPA rules in the US, the penalties for just missing a few details are high enough many companies just avoid it altogether. I guess this could be an attempt at a loophole since people are doing it "manually." On the oth
