I think it’s a server side cache thing. I was loading a specific old topic on that instance and it took very long to load, but once loaded in the first time refreshes were decently fast (even in private windows). I’ve observed the same beha

I don’t get the love for discourse. I’m not one of those “every webpage should work without JS” purists, but Discourse seems intent to reinvent basic web features with JS and has some performance issues and as a consequence of both often (m

I’m a bit confused by “Bitwarden is built in now” - are you saying that you no longer need the Bitwarden app to connect iOS’s password autofill to my bitwarden vault?

There isn’t that much latitude - the “up reversal” and “essential” options don’t really apply here. That only leaves “Abort or Undo”. The concern here is with UIs feeling snappy, so we’re not talking about the type of long-running task wher

So I’m confused to the logic here. You’re running Mac OS, which can call out to all kinds of external services, even from the terminal. Siri is debatably a third party AI feature itself. Why is that OK but this is toxic?

You don’t need a separate build. This has the exact same risk profile as somebody just navigating to the openAI website, and can be blocked in the exact same way, with network policy. I could see the argument that the iterm needs a more cle

OpenThread is by Google, and not the thread group. Google has released their copyright claims with the BSD license, but the thread group could still C&D you for copyright issues I.e., that your project that includes openthread code viol

The BSD license just selectively releases the copyright on the openthread code. It doesn’t affect other legal constructs, like patents or copyrights outside the repo.

For context, the Apple Secure Enclave chips run an NICTA L4-based microkernel, albeit not SeL4 specifically as far as I know (given the Secure Enclave launched in 2006 and NICTA released SeL4 in 2014). I wonder if this indicates plans to ad

Sheet metal curving is probably cheaper than flat panels. A flat panel is wobbly, adding 3D curves to it can stiffen it significantly. A flat panel in any non-matte finish will also display any imperfections like mad (ever looked at the ref

I don’t think you even need that level of sophistication. You can probably get “good enough” results just pointing the camera at a high-res screen displaying the manipulated image and putting it slightly out of focus.
