Maybe it's just me, but the benefits of implicit error handling in these examples seem really minor. Is it really worthwhile to have that as a feature just to save few ? in the function body?

I wonder what the io perf will look like during migration. Gut feeling is that going through dm-clone/iscsi/wireguard would be lot slower than direct local nvme.

The animations turn these diagrams into hybrid between basic box-and-arrows diagrams and sequence diagrams, because the animations capture the temporal relationship between actions. They certainly can not be naively substituted with static

strace is quite useful too as a starting point. for example you can easily see that `ss` gets its information through netlink (ditto about netstat).

I don't think MS particularly wanted to enter security market, they cared far more about making sure that all Windows computers had some level of baseline security solution. The constant virus epidemics were hurting their reputation an

It has only 9 (old pcie 3.0) lanes though which is bit limiting. In theory you should be able to use 8 of those lanes and get something like 4x10Gbe, which would be actually really neat, but that requires that the lanes are not squandered f

I don't see how something like PBD helps at all with rendering.. are you thinking that this work relates somehow to physics simulation? Considering that the result is pretty much just a shader, I imagine it works just as well on animat

It's interesting how this was republished just at the cusp of the rise of indie games. And indie games certainly have been exploring lot of the ideas mentioned.

The thing that you and all other ipv6 haters miss is that none of that matters. Ipv6 is happening, like it or not. And that had been the state already for 10-15 years. Maybe in the 00s there was window when there might have been true doubt

Of course these ideas are not that new. IPv6 was supposed to give end-to-end connectivity to all, and originally IPsec was supposed to be mandatory part of IPv6, giving each internet host cryptographic identity. And so on.
