I'm finding nand2tetris much better for covering what I gather is mostly the same. The 6.004 for 09 has more of the physics than nand2tetris but I can live without that

Last time I looked at MIT 6.004 the lecture slides seemed like they were useless without the speaker but there were no videos so I moved on. Looks like there's been an update since so will take another look...

I have spent a year working on combating my back pain and I can tell you that the musculoskeletal system is exactly that - a system. The joints and muscles all work in concerted effort to move and this idea of isolated muscular contraction

my usage of the term "excesses" was in the context of an article about "Bonus Culture" itself a topic in the public eye. So less a term used as a value judgement and more a term with contextual meaning in this topic (IMO

Yes, quite. I have a friend who was only 26/27 and took home 325,000 USD as his bonus. Another is cagey about what he earns but it's stipulated he earns more than the number above. Meanwhile another friend at a different hedge-fun

Tangentially I was blown away to read that the age of the court officials during the Ancient Chinese Three Kingdoms period could allegedly go as high as in the 70s which is pretty crazy for ~200AD But supposedly disease was well contained i

I like how tying physics to FPS is mentioned as an ill-advised thing to do. Destiny 2 not that long ago had an issue with the Cold Heart laser where players on the PC port could output gamebreaking damage by jacking up their FPS as the lase

From experience of trying to converse with actual fluent speakers of Mandarin, there is a huge gap going from what you learn in the classroom, where you practise the tones in slow-mo, and how people speak and listen in reality. IMO there&#x
