One of my favorite books is Inside Jokes Using Humor to Reverse-Engineer the Mind. The gist is that humor is the "joy of debugging". Our brains are inference machines and make a lot of conclusions that might eventually end up be

OMG! I created a GUI tool for this: Simplest File Renamer (Win, Mac, Linux). In my app, you can rename using your favorite code editor, so you have access to all your keyboard shortcuts. https://github.com/whyboris/Si

The speaker concludes with the self-referential comment, saying something like "and of course, here I am, giving you a narrative" implying we can't escape them, but at least we can slow down our thinking to contemplate whethe

A really wonderful TED talk from Tyler Cowen: Be suspicious of simple stories > he asks us to step away from thinking of our lives -- and our messy, complicated irrational world -- in terms of a simple narrative. https://ww
