I didn't try to disprove anything. In fact, that may very well be true. The OP was hinting at the idea, and I wanted to explicate it, while acknowledging the controversy of it. I just don't think much is gained by knowing factuall

Well that's more of a question on what defines "talent" - and if such a thing exists. Genetic predisposition certainly is a thing in sports, and genetics and ethnicity are obviously closely related. The context we we're

Evenly distributed not in the sense that everyone has an equal amount, but that every way you can cut up demographics (age, race, sex, nationality) will have the same bell curve of talent. But that is not necessarily so with opportunity.

Paying off loans doesn't also mean you are also living paycheck-to-paycheck. Even if so, this article is well researched and has sparked good discussion - accusing the author of being tone deaf, with no other contribution or criticism

There's not exactly a consensus these days on what is correct. Either is valid, but I generally prefer _Brooks' Law_ to _Brooks's Law_ since it looks more clean. Of course, Brook's Law is incorrect, as there is no "

Very exciting project! Love the idea, and can't wait to see some proof of concepts eventually. It obviously has the potential to be revolutionary in the aerospace industry, though time will tell if it's as effective as claimed of

VSCode and Atom are available over the internet? I've seen online cloud-IDEs based on some of the work in them (Cloud9) but wasn't aware the vanilla versions could run in the browser.

That's the whole point of it. Not the caveat really, but the primary feature! Whereas Electron will package chrome in every binary, this uses what you already have installed. Obviously not great for many product types. You wouldn'

Very interesting. If I understand correctly - this essentially solves the problem of each Electron application having to package the entirety of chromium with it. However it comes at the cost of assuming the user already has chrome installe

Actually even at 1080p, Netflix streams are visibly worse quality than blu-ray. Particularly in the compression of dark colors. I'll occasionally see color-banding, which you never see in Blu-ray.

To play devils advocate, could this partially be that cars now have aerodynamics optimized partially for keeping things from hitting the window? Windows are more sloped now than the were 30 years ago, and the curvature of the hood leads int

I think the "Lean Startup" trend is very useful for a large amount of entrepreneurs, who suffer similar issues. Primarily being afraid of launching their product until it's "perfect". It's very, very easy to ju

> Are you sure we are omnivores? Yup. We have evolved to consume meat, as well has plant matter. You can argue this point down the rabbithole, but it's irrelevant to the broader point. If you want to say we're herbivores, fine.

Probably because this talk of skull-shape and less intelligence sounds a lot like phrenology - an old psuedoscience used to determine the latent abilities of a person, based on their skull shape. Which ultimately was related to their race -

There is something that pops out to me as interesting in this dataset; that the tweets don't consistently push one singular message. Is this to spread divisiveness? For example, all the 10_GOP tweets are, of course, very pro-trump: >
