Very cool! I wrote a similar tool (in Node.js, though), but was trying to make it extensible with plugins. https://github.com/hiquest/nicechat

Pretty sure, LLMs even at current stage would be better teachers than at least 20% bottom shitty teachers out there. But I like your analogy! Please tell me where to get shirts that last longer then 3 washing cycles

While I don't think AI will replace anyone in the near term, I find it interesting how many people react in IT field to any attempts to automate code development to a certain degree using AI. This reaction is quite harsh and emotional.

I wish we had more articles not about what good practices are, or how things should be designed in theory, but rather about how to enforce those practices in a large organization, when you are not necessary a guy who makes decisions.

I’ve been working on a free rss client. It runs as a PWA on mobile phones, and is very simple, and fast. Don’t even have a landing page yet, but you can sign up for free. https://app.srssly.com

I was recently working on a UI system that attempts to let AI build websites autonomously. When you start working on it you quickly realize how many tradeoffs you have to think through. Most of the questions arise from the limitedness of th

We developers take proud for being able to get our head around a complex solution. And unfortunately sometimes that becomes a driver for building complex solutions for problems, that otherwise could have been solved much simpler. But in tha

Here are some better ideas from the top of my head: - summarise an article - find information on a given topic (free-form input text) - full voice control ("click that link", "read that article", "find this")

Should we also get rid of some of the young people if they are grumpy? Are you sure 80 years is enough, maybe it's 30?

I was thinking exactly this. If the original idea was to slow things down, then that kind of turmoil is exactly what was required. OpenAI will slow down under the new CEO and because talent is leaving. Altman will slow down, because he will

I never deeply understood economics to be honest. But if we people wages start growing, won't it automatically mean that there are more money circling around which means inflation, which means we're back at square one?

TL;DR: This is ChatGPT + TypeScript. I'm totally happy to be able to receive structured queries, but I'm also not 100% sure TypeScript is the right tool, it seems to be an overkill. I mean obviously you don't need the power o

Many people fail to see that the real benefit of using TypeScript is better tooling (code completion, intenseness, refactoring capabilities, self-documenting code) and not the mere ability to catch some stupid runtime errors at compile time

I wonder if there’s an AI that could deeply look into my data, and I have hundreds of read books along with reviews and ratings, and recommend me some real non-obvious books. I tried asking chatgpt, but it’s too much data for it to digest.

While this is nice, to me the whole promise of PWA is that developers can escape confusing App Store rules, long approval process, and the absurd 30% commissions. So no, thank you. I don’t want back into the App Store.
