I mostly code in JS/TS and ruby, and find it pretty handy. Especially when I need to write some unit tests, I usually only write it("should work like this and like that"), and 90% of the time it generates a useful unit test[0

God, only yesterday there was a comment by someone, that Copilot will eventually move to gpt4. So eventually = just 1 day. Things move so fast these days.

Here's another view. If you're a music composer, you hear the music in your head. But in order to get it out, you need to play and record musical instruments, learn to sign, learn to produce, etc. What if you had a device that tak

I find it interesting that many people took a defensive position towards AI. For many the discurs seems to be "will this AI thing eventually replace me and kick out of me job". For me it's more like will that AI thing make me

LSP is what made me make a full switch to Vim[0]. Neovim even made it part of its API out-of-the-box, and that's a perfectly reasonable move given how much benefit it brings. [0] https://www.vimfromscratch.com/articles&

I think the problem is that the tsserver for historical reasons even though is quite similar, still does NOT implement the LSP protocol. That's why you need another level here.

The biggest problem about knowledge management is that it gets stale pretty fast, and people don't see it as part of their job to keep it up to date. That's more like organisational problem, but I'd wanted to tackle it from t

To me, the main point was always the need to refresh the knowledge. Ive built a note taking webapp ( http://rekowl.com ), that will pop up some of your older notes for review, not unsimilar to anki. I have to say the experience is

Thanks for a fantastic post. I've actually wrote a single tech book in my life, and found Pandoc to be really indispensable. For example, while writing a book about Vim* I simply used markdown and Pandoc would allow me to translate it

We are really good at adapting. Today I and my phone can do better at remembering stuff I need, than me without phone 10 years ago. Is this really a problem if you think about it from the standpoint of human evolution?

Good point! I'm still not sure that spaced repetition is done right. Some notes doesn't make sense to review at all. And the pacing is also the question.
